[스타뉴스=이정호 기자] Tickets for 2 of BLACKPINK’s concerts to be held in Bangkok were sold out in 1 hour with a heated ticketing war, making the group finalize an additional concert.

On December 3, 11 AM, YG Entertainment revealed a poster notifying an additional concert by BLACKPINK to be held in Bangkok through their official social media account. With the decision to hold an additional concert, BLACKPINK will be performing in Bangkok Impact Arena 3 times, for the first time as a girl group.

BLACKPINK will hold their first-ever world tour titled ‘BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR [IN YOUR AREA]’ next year on January, and will perform in various locations worldwide including Bangkok, Jakarta, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei.

As the tickets for the 2 concerts to be held in Bangkok from January 12~13 were sold out in an hour, people realized BLACKPINK’s global popularity once again. As there were over 90 thousand people hoping to purchase tickets even after all tickets were sold out, BLACKPINK added an additional concert to their schedule on January 11 to meet the heated response of Thai fans. The tickets for the additional concert will be available for sale on December 5, 10 AM (local time), while tickets for concerts in other regions of Asia will open in order.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is continuing to prove their ‘global presence’ by setting milestones day by day.

BLACKPINK became the fastest K-Pop group to reach 500 million views on YouTube with the song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, released on June. At the same time, they became the only K-Pop girl group to hold a MV with over ‘500 million views’.

With the group’s global popularity, BLACKPINK also notified their entry into the US market by partnering with Interscope Records, which is the representative label of Universal Music Group. People are wondering how high BLACKPINK will be able to rise, as they confidently challenge the global market.
