BANG YE DAM’s 6-Year Development Story in ‘YG Treasure Box’… YANG HYUN SUK, “He’s Really Good”
[이데일리=정시내 기자] BANG YE DAM’s development story will be revealed through ‘YG Treasure Box’.
On November 15, YG Entertainment released a preview of the first episode of ‘YG Treasure Box’ through VLIVE(V App). The video focused on BANG YE DAM who gained recognition by winning second place on ‘K-Pop Star’ aired in 2013, and was always in the center of attention in the K-Pop scene even as a trainee of YG.
The video shows how BANG YE DAM spent 6 years in YG after he won second place on ‘K-Pop Star’ when he was 11 years old. Like representative producer YANG HYUN SUK’s words, “Did YE DAM grow more? He used to be very small”, one can take a glimpse of BANG YE DAM’s development story through the clip.
During the monthly evaluations in 2017, representative YANG left a strong impression by stating, “The reason why people say YE DAM is good… is because he’s really good”. BANG YE DAM is a strong debut candidate as YANG HYUN SUK selected him while stating, “Let’s make the strongest ones battle each other”, in the preview clip revealed on the 12th.
BANG YE DAM has also revealed his growth potential as a singer-songwriter by presenting his elegant vocals through the song ‘Betrayer’, composed by himself as a 17-year old. Represent YANG was surprised and stated, “Who made this track?” and continued, “He makes tracks now? YE DAM?” at the end of the video.
‘YG Treasure Box’ is a competition program that will select members of YG’s new boy group being launched in 4 years, following BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON. Unlike existing debut survival programs, the show will reveal YG’s music production know-hows and internal system accumulated for the past 22 years, to present the progress of the new group’s creation.
‘YG Treasure Box’ will be composed of 10 episodes. The program will be pre-released through VLIVE(V App) tomorrow(16th) at 10 PM and will premiere through JTBC2 and YouTube on the same night at 12 AM.
