BLACKPINK’s Dance Practice Video for ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ Surpasses 100 Million Views… ‘Unprecedented’ Second Record Following ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’
[OSEN=김은애 기자] BLACKPINK proved their nickname as ‘the view count fairies’ by surpassing 100 million views on their choreography video for ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’.
On October 30, the dance practice video for BLACKPINK’s ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. YG Entertainment’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK wrote, “#BLACKPINK #ASIFITSYOURLAST #DANCE_PRACTICE #100MILLION #YOUTUBE #YG” as a response on his social media account, along with a congratulatory poster.
It is the second time BLACKPINK reached 100 million views on a dance practice video. BLACKPINK surprised the public by surpassing 100 million views on the dance practice video for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ on September.
It is unprecedented for a K-Pop group to surpass 100 million views on 2 dance practice videos, let alone music videos. Even though the song ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ was released last year on June, it seems that not only the MV, but also the choreography for the song is still receiving attention from many fans.
BLACKPINK has been receiving attention in the K-Pop scene by becoming the first group to hold ‘three’ MVs with over ‘400 million views’. The MV for ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ released on June 2017 surpassed 400 million views last month on the 21st, in 1 year and 3 months since its release. The MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ released on June 15 surpassed 400 million views in exactly 112 days. Their debut song ‘BOOMBAYAH’ also reached 400 million views on the 23rd.
Furthermore, all 6 MVs released by BLACKPINK including ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘WHISTLE’, ‘PLAYING WITH FIRE’, ‘STAY’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, and ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ have reached over 100 million views, proving the group’s global influence.
All members of BLACKPINK will release solo tracks to present their musical talent and skills, starting with JENNIE. In the meantime, BLACKPINK will hold their first-ever concert in Seoul on November 10 and November 11. JENNIE will also perform her upcoming single to be released on November 12 through the concert in front of the audience for the first time.
