BLACKPINK Receives MTV VMAJ ‘Best Dance Video Award’… A Reckless Winning Streak

[서울경제=이하나 기자] BLACKPINK received the ‘Best Dance Video Award’ on ‘MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS JAPAN 2018’.

On ‘MTV VMAJ 2018 -THE LIVE-’ held in STUDIO COAST, Tokyo on the 10th, BLACKPINK won the honor of receiving the ‘Best Dance Video Award’ with the MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’.

BLACKPINK performed ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ during the opening of ‘MTV VMAJ 2018 -THE LIVE-’ as the winning artists of the ‘Best Dance Video Award’. The audiences congratulated BLACKPINK by greeting them with roaring reactions.

After performing ‘BOOMBAYAH’ and ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’ last year on MTV VMAJ as guests, the group proved their unmatched performances and presence this year as well.

JENNIE shared her thoughts after receiving the award by stating, “It’s an honor to receive this award. Thank you”. ROSÉ shared her gratitude towards the fans by adding, “We’re supported by many people these days. We would like to present good music as a way of repayment”.

‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ became a hot topic as soon as the song was released on June. The MV for the song was ranked at no. 1 on the ‘Top 10 Most Watched MV in 24 Hours’ announced by Billboard, and was placed at all-time no. 4. The MV for ‘DDU-Du DDU-DU’ recently surpassed 400 million views, setting the fastest record in K-Pop group history.

After holding their first arena tour in Japan on July, BLACKPINK will carry on the heat performing in Kyocera Dome for the first time as a foreign girl group, on December 24.

In addition, the 3rd ticket sales for BLACKPINK’s first-ever solo concert in Seoul titled ‘BLACKPINK 2018 TOUR [IN YOUR AREA] SEOUL X BC CARD’ will open today (11th) at 8 PM through Auction Ticket.

On November 10 (Sat) at 6 PM and November 11 (Sun) at 5 PM, BLACKPINK will share unforgettable memories with the fans in Seoul KSPO DOME (Olympic Gymnastics Arena).

As it will be their first-ever solo concert, the members are preparing hard. There will be various attractions including not only a hit-song parade, but also remix and new song performances.

An overseas band will also participate, to present upgraded music that will capture the eyes and ears of the audiences.
