[OFFICIAL] YG Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Commenters Today (14th) … “Large-Scale Legal Action”
[OSEN=정지원 기자] YG Entertainment announced a war on malicious rumors, taking a large-scale legal action against malicious commenters.
On August 14, related officials from YG Entertainment revealed, “We’ve collected physical and circumstantial evidence since February, and finished presenting bills of indictment”.
YG Entertainment took legal action against 12 internet articles which spread malicious rumors and slandered YG artists with defamation of character and obscene material. Additional 57 articles containing insulting comments on the artists were charged as well.
The process was a large scale legal action uncommon in the entertainment industry and serves as a strong message that the agency will not stand still against malicious commenters creating and spreading groundless rumors with bad intentions.
The accused subjects have been posting articles containing false contents while creating and spreading obscene material and insulting sexual remarks, damaging the artists’ reputation and character with defamation.
YG Entertainment has previously announced its ‘strong action’ policy against malicious commenters on February 19 and opened a fan reporting account with regards to malicious posts, rumors, and false reports.
The contents reported until June also went through strict legal examinations until they were included in the bills of indictment.
