[OSEN=이소담 기자]  MUJU YG Foundation, the non-profit foundation established by YG Entertainment will continue to lead the way in supporting the youth in need.

On August 13, MUJU YG Foundation donated 70 million won to Ewha Women’s University, 59 million won to Seoul Youth Media Center (Blue Tree Foundation to Prevent Youth Violence), contributing a total of 165 million won.

MUJU YG Foundation has previously announced that the organization will donate a total of 340 million won including 150 million won for Ewha Women’s University and 190 million won for Seoul Youth Media Center within 2 years starting from this year.

MUJU YG Foundation has been organizing various support projects for the youth along with Ehwa Women’s University and Seoul Youth Media Center from 1025.

The ‘Y&G Music Healing Project with Ewha Women’s University Musical Therapy Department’ has been helping the assailants and victims of school violence. The wounded teenagers express their inner mind through playing instruments and creation, which helps them discover positive self-consciousness and enhance social competence.

The ‘YG Music Healing Concert’ was held in Ewha Women’s University Joongkang Hall last year on May. The teenagers performed songs written and composed by themselves, interpreting their own life stories into music and presenting a meaningful experience.

The ‘YG Director Project with Seoul Youth Media Center’ provides professional education for the youth that lack opportunities to learn about art directing, writing, and composing songs.

MUJU YG Foundation and Seoul Youth Media Center opened ‘YGDP Zone’ in Yongsan, Seoul last year on December for the youth that dream to work in the media industry. Teenagers who wish to become art directors, writers, and composers in the future can use PCs, locker rooms, recording rooms, and pianos at zero cost.

YG Entertainment is extending their warm helping hands for the society along with MUJU YG Foundation.

YG Entertainment, located in Mapo district, Seoul, donated 300 million won as scholarship funds for human resource development in the Mapo district on August 7.

Furthermore, the agency has been performing good deeds through the ‘WITH Campaign’ started in 2009, which included donation projects and talent donations by artists from YG.

The agency started protecting the rights for the children by taking part in the ‘WITH’ campaign hosted by Save the Children, which is an international non-government organization that promotes children’s rights and provides relief for children in developing countries. On May, SEAN started the ‘2018 Ice Bucket Challenge’ to build Korea’s first ALS care hospital, and many celebrities participated in the good deeds relay.

Last year, YG hosted the ‘2017 YGX UNICEF Working Festival’ and donated all entry fees to promote the health of the children and youth and the treatment for malnutrition. The agency also donated 100 million won by participating in the support relay event hosted by W-Foundation as part of their HOOXI nature conservation project.
