[엑스포츠뉴스=김미지 기자] Group BLACKPINK successfully entered 15 different Billboard music charts.

According to the Billboard charts announced on the 26th (local time), BLACKPINK’s first mini album ‘SQUARE UP’ and the title song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ debuted as no. 40 on the ‘Billboard 200’ and no. 55 on the ‘Hot 100’, respectively.

The ‘Billboard 200’ and ‘Hot 100’ are music charts that rate the most popular songs and albums in the United States, by comprehensively measuring the number of streams, sales, and radio broadcasts every week.

BLACKPINK also entered the ‘World Albums’ and ‘Emerging Artists’ charts as no. 1, and were ranked at no. 4 and no. 5 on ‘YouTube Songs’ and ‘SOCIAL 50’, respectively. They also debuted at the ‘Billboard Artist 100’, ‘Streaming Songs’, and ‘Digital Albums’, entering a total of 15 Billboard charts.

Forbes highlighted BLACKPINK’s achievement by writing “BLACKPINK set a milestone by becoming the highest charting K-Pop girl group in the ‘Hot 100’ and ‘Billboard 200’”.

They continued, “It is the first time for a K-Pop girl group to enter the ‘Hot 100’ since 2009. They also surpassed the previous record of no. 61 set by 2NE1’s ‘Crush’ on the ‘Billboard 200’, which puts ‘SQUARE UP’ as the highest charting album by K-Pop girl groups of all time”.

BLACKPINK is not only doing well in foreign charts, but also in Korea. ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is continuing its ‘all-kill’ march in major Korean music charts, as of June 27 at 9 AM (KST).

BLACKPINK’s MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ also became the fastest K-Pop girl group video to surpass 100 million views, by reaching the number in 10 days since its release. They are proving their nickname as the ‘new record generators’ by surpassing 100 million views on all 6 MVs releases since debut.
