[헤럴드POP=고승아 기자] iKON captured the hearts of fans with their sincerity through a part time job challenge and an awareness test out on the streets.

On the 3rd episode of ‘Self-Produced iKON TV’ aired on the 5th, members of iKON went through an awareness test and had a part time job challenge to self-produce a music video.

The members of iKON went out to the streets to perform an awareness test among different age groups. They first arrived at the front gate of Hongdae University, where there are a lot of people in their 20s.

While the other members stayed in the bus, DK was put into the scene to check the reactions by the public. However, a female college student standing next to DK did not recognize him, making the viewers laugh. JU-NE received the most votes, and expressed his gratitude with a surprise free-hugs event.

B.I was ranked at no. 1 in the awareness test performed in front of an elementary school. While signing autographs for the elementary school students, he stated “I’m B.I, not BewhY. BewhY’s more famous than I am”, expressing his bitter emotions. BOBBY was ranked at no. 1 in the awareness test among middle school students, and could not hide his joy.

After the awareness test was performed for a day, members of iKON shared candid conversations with each other at a barbeque shop.

SONG stated, “Since people who like us come to see us at concerts, I thought there would be a lot of our fans out in the streets”

JAY stated, “They say having 4 to 5 years of idol experience makes you think that the world loves you, and become narcissistic” and explained that the awareness test helped him secure his humble attitude.

Members of iKON also challenged a part time job to self-produce a music video. It was not only to direct their own music video for the fans, but to also fund the production costs. JU-NE and CHAN challenged SEUNGRI’s Japanese ramen restaurant, BOBBY, DK, and SONG challenged a kid’s café, while B.I and JAY went to a pet kindergarten.

JU-NE and CHAN arrived at SEUNGRI’s ramen shop, and learned to receive order sheets and to serve meals. They poured out tears and mucus while chopping green onions while preparing for the store opening. They became the ‘handsome part timers’ who keep their smiles despite the countless orders coming in during lunch time, but were in sweat due to their continuous mistakes.

SEUNGRI grabbed peoples’ attention by handing out thick envelopes to JU-NE and CHAN as their daily pay. However, the envelope was filled with 1,000 won bills, while SEUNGRI encouraged them by stating, “You’ll feel the value of money since you experienced and felt it yourselves through the part time job experience”.

While DK skillfully reached out to the children customers at the kid’s café, BOBBY made the viewers smile with a contrasting vibe of not knowing what to do. SONG received countless orders at the counter. B.I and JAY looked after 16 dogs at the pet kindergarten. They had to give a cry due to the continuous bowel movement by the dogs after lunch.

In the end, the members participated in a ‘mukbang’ in a home shopping channel, a part time job which the members can receive the most daily wage. The members successfully helped the sold-out of 50 thousand packs of bulgogi with their passionate and cheerful mukbang, and received twice the daily wage they were promised. The members earned 433,000 won per team through the part time job experience, and 2,100,000 won through the home-shopping channel mukbang, earning a total of 2,533,000 won as their music video production costs.

‘Self-Produced iKON TV’ is iKON’s first exclusive reality program since debut where the members become producers of the program themselves. The show releases every Saturday at 10 PM through YouTube and Naver V LIVE, and broadcasts through JTBC on the same night at 12:30 AM.
