[TV리포트=신나라 기자] JTBC’s MIXNINE, the journey of trainees towards debuting as idols, begins today.
MIXNINE is an audition program that shows the sweat and tears of star wannabes in Korea. YANG HYUN SUK, the best producer in Korea and YG head, visited entertainment agencies across the country to see for himself how good the trainees are.
YG’s TAEYANG, SEUNGRI, CL, and Zion.T as well as Park Jin Young joins YANG HYUN SUK as special judges in his search for new stars. The show will focus on the true behind stories and different charms of the trainees and their passion for debut.

YANG HYUN SUK visited entertainment agencies around the country to look for rough diamonds. There has been a number of audition programs so far, such as K Pop Star, Superstar K, and Produce 101, but it is the first time that an agency head visited other labels to look for stars.
YANG HYUN SUK’s sharp eye for rough diamonds and seeing him talk with other agency heads will definitely make the show more interesting. HAN DONG CHUL, the producer of Show Me The Money, Unpretty Rapstar, and Produce 101, is ready to rewrite history with another great audition show. He is known for creating different, sensational and fun shows, and MIXNINE is his first project since he joined YG.
In the final round of MIXNINE, two groups each consisting of nine boys and nine girls will compete for the chance to debut. Girl groups usually have a wide fan base and boy groups have passionate fans, so the competition between the two groups will be fierce and it will be hard to predict what will happen.
◆ The main song is likely to become a mega hit
The showcase of MIXNINE was held at Ilsan KINTEX on October 28, during which the cast and the main song were revealed. The trainees who passed the tour audition performed “JUST DANCE” for the very first time in public.
“JUST DANCE” is made by YG’s main songwriter TEDDY. The song begins with synthesizer chords that have great mass appeal. Then, EDM sounds build up and show off the song’s intricate arrangement. Together with the contestant’s choreography, “JUST DANCE” is likely to become a song that is loved by everyone.
On MIXNINE, YANG HYUN SUK visits 70 entertainment companies and meets some 400 trainees. In the end, he will pick nine trainees, who will debut as an idol group that represents K pop. The first episode of MIXNINE will air at 4:50 PM on JTBC, and “JUST DANCE” will be released at 6 PM on music streaming platforms including Melon.
