The press conference for the show is due to take place on October 27, and as far as we know, it is a totally different show from the previous audition variety programs. YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK posted a short preview video on his social media page in the afternoon of October 26. The video was hastagged with “#MIXNINE # You can trust the HAN DONG CHUL crew #You can curse me if it’s no fun”. The HAN DONG CHUL crew refers to a team of producers who made Mnet’s mega hit shows such as Show Me The Money and Produce 101. They have moved to YG, and their first project is MIXNINE.
The day before the 26th, BIGBANG’s G-DRAGON, TAEYANG and SEUNGRI and CL showed their support for the show in the run up to MIXNINE’s premier. They are YG artists that exert global influence. They posted the preview of MIXNINE on their Instagram page, and it went viral globally. The video on GD’s page surpassed 700,000 views as soon as it was posted. Because the show is made by YG, many industry insiders believe that MIXNINE will do well in the global market.
On JTBC’s new variety show MIXNINE, YANG HYUN SUK visits 70 entertainment agencies across the country in search for new stars. It is a reality competition program in which contestants compete regardless of gender. In the final round, two groups each consisting of nine boys and nine girls will compete to become the winner and earn the chance of a debut.
YANG HYUN SUK has traveled across the country to shoot the show. Even during the Chuseok holiday season, he had no time to take a rest because he had to travel. Meanwhile, the showcase of MIXNINE will be held in the afternoon of October 28 at Ilsan KINTEX, and the participants of the show will be revealed for the very first time. The trainees that passed the tour audition will perform MIXNINE’s signature song for the first time in public, and expectations are running high.
MIXNINE’s signature song that is to be revealed at the showcase is made by TEDDY, who is known to have the Midas touch for writing hit songs.
