[Pop-upTV] “Youth Better than Flower” and “Kang’s Kitchen” of “New Journey to the West”, a small ball shot up by Producer Na Young-seok
[헤럴드POP=박수인 기자] People will be able to see “Youth Better than Flower” and “Kang’s Kitchen” in “New Journey to the West” show. All these began with a small ball shot up by producer Na Young-seok.
It all began at the time when SONG MINHO got the nickname of “Finger Song”. In an episode aired on June 21, the staff of “New Journey to the West” show including producer Na Young-seok gave the cast members a “frozen corpse” game. The cast members had to complete a mission within time limit without bending their arms. If they succeed in fulfilling the mission at once, they could pick five out of the items written on a dartboard and three items if they succeed at the second trial. Before picking an item on the dartboard, they had to make 15 turns first and pick the item they wanted exactly with the tip of their finger coated with ink.
The staff of the show of course made a joke with the dartboard. Most of the gift items written on it were sponge and foreign luxury cars were written on a tiny tip of the board.
But the cast members excelled the staff. SONG MINHO was turned out to be a dark horse. Generally, people cannot pick a tiny spot on a dartboard with the tip of their finger after making 15 turns. However, SONG MINHO succeeded in picking the tiny spots with foreign luxury cars exactly twice.
SONG MINHO’s success made producer Na Young-seok kneel down in front of the cast members. Na said “let’s have a dream and hope” instead of the foreign cars whose prices exceed 400 million and 600 million won. Then, he promised that he will make any TV show that the cast members want possible, weather it is “Kang’s Kitchen” or “Youth Better than Flower”, if the cast succeeds in collecting all seven “dragon balls”.
When the cast members succeeded in collecting five dragon balls, the staff made the cast members talk about their wishes. Eun Ji Won said he wanted to have a full set of VR game console; Lee Soo-geun wanted a latest mobile phone; Kang Ho-dong wanted two sets of Interstellar; Ahn Jae-hyun wanted a camcorder; and SONG MINHO wanted “Youth Better than Flower” show with WINNER members.
After two more rounds of the game, the cast members succeeded in fulfilling other missions including hitting a liquor bottle and making water bottles stand. Finally, they collected all the dragon balls needed to realize their wishes. The staff of the show mentioned “Youth Better than Flower” and then “Kang’s Kitchen” show, promising that people will be able to see “Youth Better than Flower” and “Kang’s Kitchen” in “New Journey to the West”.
On July 19, “New Journey to the West 4” said, “spin-off episodes of New Journey to the West show will be planned. Not only SONG MINHO’s ‘Youth Better than Flower’ but also ‘Kang’s Kitchen’ will be realized. Other than that, the detailed items, as well as the schedule ad form of the broadcasting have yet to be determined”, to raise fans’ anticipation for the spin-off.
