[Exclusive] BLACKPINK Goes On Knowing Bros upon YANG HYUN SUK’s Request
[OSEN=정소영 기자] BLACKPINK is to appear on Knowing Bros. This is the first time that super rookie BLACKPINK goes on Knowing Bros, one of the most popularity variety shows. Expectations are running especially high as all the four members will come on the show. Earlier on, fans and YANG HYUN SUK made requests online that BLACKPINK should go on the show.
According to industry insiders on July 8, BLACKPINK will shoot JTBC’s Knowing Bros next week as new students in “Bros High School”.
It’s BLACKPINK’s first appearance on Knowing Bros. Earlier on, a fan posted a comment that he wanted to see BLACKPINK on Knowing Bros and the head of BLACKPINK’s agency YANG HYUN SUK replied, “I’m trying my best. This is the first time I asked someone for a favor in 17 years.”
So far, BLACKPINK only went on a couple of variety shows. However, they were able to show off their unexpected charming side on MBC Everyone’s Weekly Idol and SBS’s Running Man. Therefore, expectations are running high for the chemistry between the hosts and BLACKPINK members.
BLACKPINK recently made a comeback with “As If It’s Your Last”, and upon comeback, it has set numerous new records. The music video of the song posted 10 million views in just 17 hours after release, 20 million in 47 hours, and 30 million in 107 hours.
The music video finally surpassed 40 million views in nine days and 12 hours, the shortest time it took for a K-pop group to reach that mark.
BLACKPINK already proved itself to be a monster rookie with just two Eps. “BOOMBAYAH”, “PLAYINGWITH FIRE”, and “WHISTLE” not only dominated the charts but their music videos all surpassed 100 million views.
No rookie before BLACKPINK had three 100 million view music videos, and in the shortest time at that as it only took BLACKPINK eight months.
Meanwhile, the Knowing Bros episode featuring BLACKPINK will be aired in July.
