[Direct Interview] Producer Han Dong Chul Decides to Join YG
[서울뉴스1=황미현 기자] Recently, former Mnet producer Han Dong Chul signed a contract with YG Entertainment and commented, “YG is the best partner”.
On May 11, Han Dong Chul signed a contract with YG. There were already rumors that he was considering joining YG even before he signed the contract.
YG head YANG HYUN SUK posted a picture featuring Han Dong Chul signing his contract on his Instagram page on May 15, announcing that he has officially become a member of YG family.
Han Dong Chul told News1, “I’ve decided to join YG only recently. I left Mnet in January and planned on doing independent production, but thankfully, I got a number of good offers. I put a lot of thought and decided to join YG recently.”
He went on to say, “I’ve got a lot of offers from good companies. The reason why I decided to sign a contract with YG is because I’ve always liked YG and thought that we could be good partners.”
When asked about what’s he expecting out of his contract, Han Dong Chul answered, “YG is a strong creator of the Korean wave, and it has a wide network. I believe that this will be a great asset to work on.”
Nothing specific has been decided as to what kind of programs he will be producing in YG. He said, “I signed the contract only last week, and nothing has been decided yet. We have to slowly discuss our next moves from now on.”
