[Music Talk Talk] SECHSKIES releases first new album in 17 years today (Apr. 28)… Kicking off 20th anniversary project in earnest
[OSEN=선미경 기자] Group SECHSKIES is releasing their first new album in 17 years today (Apr. 28).
On April 28 at 6PM, SECHSKIES is releasing new album “THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY”. It is a special album that celebrates the 20th anniversary of SECHSKIES’ debut, which fell on April 15. It is also SECHSKIES’ first new album with their first new songs in 17 years.
The new songs included in the album are “SAD SONG” and “BE WELL”, the double title tracks of the album. “SAD SONG” is a song whose rhythmical melody stands out unlike its title. “BE WELL” is a sentimental slow music which is the main title track of SECHSKIES’ new album, following “THREE WORDS” released last year.
SECHSKIES’ new album has total 11 songs: the two new songs and re-mastered version of the team’s past hit songs including ““Heartbreak”, “Reckless Love”, “SAY”, “Letting You Go”, “COME TO ME BABY”, “Betrayal”, “Dear Love”, and “Together Forever”. SECHSKIES re-recorded those past hit songs into latest versions and completed mixing and mastering, for the new album.
SECHSKIES will appear in TV music shows and hold concerts for the new album, more actively than ever before. After SECHSKIES’ reunion last year, the team released “THREE WORDS” and completed concert in a great success. This year, SECHSKIES will host diverse events including an exhibition, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut.
SECHSKIES’ 20th anniversary exhibition will be hosted until the 28 next month. Visitors are able to see newly-created 20th anniversary photography of SECHSKIES, as well as other contents related with their comeback, members’ stage costumes, and personal possessions. There are also other contents that visitors can directly experience and try out. Notably, an audio guide that reveals each member’s unique appeals is provided for visitors while they enjoy the exhibition all the way from the first floor to the fourth flower. The audio guide will make the exhibition even more special, by providing the story about each item of the exhibition to visitors.

SECHSKIES made debut on April 15, 1997, with “Hakwon Byeolgok(학원별곡)”, drawing enormous attention as the leading first-generation idol group. After playing the role of the center of popular culture of Korea for three years, SECHSKIES was disbanded in May, 2000. After their reunion last year, SECHSKIES has been showing the full potential of a first-generation idol group once again, enjoying remarkable popularity.
