DARA, “Misunderstanding with MINZY? Nothing has changed among 2NE1 members, we still support each other” [Interview]
[TV리포트=김가영 기자] Actress DARA clarified about people’s misunderstanding about the relationship between 2NE1 members and MINZY.
On March 30 in the morning, DARA had an interview for her movie “One Step”, at E-bom Theater located in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. DARA debuted in idol girl group 2NE1 with digital single album “Lollipop” in 2009. 2NE1 created sensation not only in Korea but also in foreign countries with their unique appeals differentiated from other girl groups.
Early last year, 2NE1’s member MINZY left the team and then 2NE1 was officially disbanded in October. At that time, MINZY confessed her feelings on her social media account, expressing her disappointment about 2NE1. That raised speculations about troubles between 2NE1 members. However, they are still maintaining deep bond and friendship.
DARA said, “I might not call it misunderstanding. Actually, nothing has changed that much. Some news articles have described it as misunderstanding, but we actually don’t feel much change in the relationship between us”.
DARA went on to express her affection for 2NE1 members by saying, “The other members could not come to the VIP preview because of their schedules yesterday, but they sent me supporting messages. I have loved a Japanese movie titled ‘The song of the sun’. MINZY told me, ‘The film feels like ‘The song of the sun’ that you like, it goes well with you’. I felt once again that the other 2NE1 members are the ones who know best about me’. I was touched once again”.
DARA plays the title role in movie “One Step” for the first time since her debut as 2NE1, acting as Sihyun who suffers from “colored hearing” symptom and memory loss. It is a music drama that depicts the process that Sihyun creates songs with the melodies in her memory to recover her lost past. It will be released on April 6.
