[스포츠조선닷컴=정유나 기자] It’s been only two weeks since BLACKPINK debuted, but the girl group became a candidate for the no.1 spot on Inkigayo’s chart. If BLACKPINK does become no.1, it will be the shortest time that a girl group topped the chart of a national TV music show.

On August 21, BLACKPINK will appear on SBS’s Inkigayo and sing “WHISTLE” and “BOOMBAYAH”—the title tracks of their debut single album “SQAURE ONE”.

The girl group is also a candidate for no.1 on Inkigayo’s chart, which is remarkable considering that BLACKPINK is only a rookie that debuted 14 days ago.

On August 14, BLACKPINK first performed their debut songs on Inkigayo, and ever since, they have been become a big issue online. As of 10 AM on August 21, BLACKPINK’s “WHISTLE” is no.1 on the charts of Korea’s seven major music streaming websites.
