[OSEN=박소영 기자] Sweet music filled the Seoul Forest on the Children’s Day. Families, friends, and couples gathered to listen to AKMU’s music. More than 10,000 people came to AKMU’s showcase, proving that AKMU deserves to be called Korea’s most iconic sibling duo.

At 3 PM on May 5, the showcase of AKMU’s new album “SPRING Vol.1” was held at the Seoul Forest in Sungdong-gu, Seoul. The audience started entering the performance area at 2 PM, and in just an hour, more than 10,000 people gathered. Even passers-by stopped to listen to AKMU’s music.

First, tracks in AKMU’s new album “SPRING Vol.1”, which was released at 12 AM on May 4, were played. “AROUND”, “EVERY LITTLE THING”, and “GREEN WINDOW” echoed through the forest in a warm spring day. It was a perfect present from AKMU.

AKMU also put on a live performance. LEE CHAN HYUK and LEE SUHYUN appeared on the stage singing “HOW PEOPLE MOVE”. The audience greeted them with loud cheers. Although the album has been released only a day ago, people sang the “It’s amazing, amazing, amazing” part along with AKMU.

The theme of AKMU’s new album is adolescence, not just the one that teenagers go through but also the one that adults experience and changes the way they look at life. LEE CHAN HYUK, who composed and wrote all the tracks in the album, said he wanted to tell stories that everyone can relate to and that the album serves as a record of those stories.

Along with “HOW PEOPLE MOVE”, “RE-BYE” is also a title track of the album. AKMU performed this song live, and LEE CHAN HYUK’s guitar and LEE SUHYUN’s sweet voice were in perfect harmony. The audience enjoyed and absorbed AKMU’s music with their whole body.

The showcase lasted for about an hour but no one left their seats after it ended. They shouted “encore” and made AKMU come up on the stage again. AKMU sang “200%” and “GIVE LOVE” for the encore stage and enthralled the audience.

AKMU’s music lingered in the air for a long time.
