WINNER Appears on China’s Variety Show “Happy Camp”, and the Episode Records Highest Viewer Ratings
[스포츠조선=이유나 기자] On March 19, the episode of Hunan Television’s top variety show “Happy Camp” that featured WINNER was aired. It recorded the highest viewer ratings, demonstrating WINNER’s huge popularity in China.
On the show, WINNER enthralled the audience with their great sense of humor. They did some slapstick pranks and beat boxing and even used the latest fad words in China.
After the show was aired, WINNER ranked high on Weibo’s list of the most searched words. Also, the followers of their Weibo account, which was 460,000 before, rose to 500,000.
“Happy Camp” first aired on July 11, 1997. It has been one of the most popular shows during the past 19 years and is currently the longest-running show in China. The show has five hosts: Li Weijia, Xie Na, Du Haitao, Wu Xin, He Jiong–who is considered to be the Yoo Jae-suk of China. They play various games and have talks with guest stars.
Meanwhile, WINNER is currently busy shooting JTBC’s new variety show “Half-moon Friends”, the first episode of which will be broadcasted on April 23.
