“Show Me the Money 4” team YG’s “Oppacha” dominates music charts… Expecting a long run
[OSEN=선미경 기자] “Oppacha”, a song presented by team YG for the competition in cable channel Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 4”, is staying in the No.1 on music charts after going up the charts. It seems that the song is now starting a long run.
As of August 18 at 8am, “Oppacha” is in the No.1 place on the real-time chart of major music-streaming websites including Korea’s biggest one Melon, NAVER Music, Olleh Music, Genie, Mnet, Bugs, and Soribada. It has been enjoying an unending popularity, since it topped the seven real-time charts on the 17.
“Oppacha” unveiled by team YG in the first-round competition of “Show Me the Money 4” aired on the 14 this month was performed by JINUSEAN, TABLO, and Incredible. The melody of the song was composed by producer TABLO and Jinbo, while the lyrics were written by TABLO and Incredible. The song’s exciting beat and catchy chorus part which goes “I’ve got a new car. Now I’m going to pick you up” appeal not only to hip-hop fans but also to the general public, as it is a song easy to sing along. Even though team YG lost the first-round competition, “Oppacha” is achieving a victory on music charts.
A fan sent a congratulatory message to TABLO for “Oppacha”’s record of high use volume on Melon on his social media account and TABLO replied, “It is all thanks to team YG’s SuperBee, Innovator, and New Champ! Send your congratulations to them!!”
