Rapper SONG MIN HO’s True Value on “Show Me the Money 4”
[헤럴드 리뷰스타=전윤희 기자] SONG MIN HO was simply known as SONG MIN HO. He was trapped in the name WINNER. But on “Show Me the Money 4” aired through Mnet, he proved his presence as a rapper, not a rapper for an idol group, by passing the 1st and 2nd rounds of the audition.
SONG’s talents were already well known. Before making a debut as WINNER, he was going to debut as one of the Block B members with Zico, one of the judges on the program. He had already made a debut under the name Tagoon, and also released a lot of mixed tapes as an underground artist.
Through another survival program “WIN,” he made a debut as a member of WINNER that belongs to YG. But that trapped him in stereotype. More concerns than excitement was expressed for his appearance on “Show Me the Money 4.”
And because of the “evil” editing of the program crew, he was criticized even before the show kicked off. In the first episode, he was shown saying “flame-like charisma,” which is a nickname for SHINee’s MIN HO. SONG’s full audition for the first round was not even featured.
But in the episode aired on July 3, SONG MIN HO’s skills were unveiled as a rapper, taking off the mask of an idol. In the first audition, he rapped, “The mask I wore as a WINNER member was a cool idol one, but right now, it’s just me. It’s kind of like that.” His determination won applause from the other candidates.
SONG MIN HO’s real value was shown in the 2nd round of audition. He was relaxed and comfortable, making other candidates and judges laugh.
All the judges including Zico, Tablo, and others who stated earlier that SONG MIN HO will be the champion since he is a member of an idol group, now admitted that he is not simply and idol but a true rapper.
All eyes are on SONG MIN HO to see what he will showcase in the 3rd round of audition, in the 1 on 1 battle next week.
