[Exclusive] JINUSEAN’s First Song Release in 11 Years Imminent: YANG “Assessing it with Much Delight”
[스타뉴스 길혜성 기자] One of South Korea’s first hip-hop artists, JINUSEAN, will highly likely release a new song. YG Entertainment is looking into the matter with much positivity.
YG’s Executive Producer YANG HYUN SUK said to Star News on Jan 27, “2 months before ‘Saturday, Saturday is for Singers’ (Totoga) was aired, SEAN came to me and brought up releasing a new song with JINU.”
“At the time I told him that it would be difficult to make it happen as there will be many artists releasing albums or songs in YG. And when he appeared on Totoga, he looked at the camera and said, ‘Are you watching this?’” YANG laughed, recalling the moment.
YANG added, “And now JINU joined SEAN on this issue. I thought, JINUSEAN is not only the very first successful duo in YG but there are fans who want to hear their song.”
“Artists in the 90’s like JINUSEAN usually released albums every two or three years. JINUSEAN’s songs like ‘TELL ME’ and ‘TELEPHONE NUMBER’ was therefore loved for a very long time. A new album would mean that they are still alive and well, while creating another song that will be loved by fans for an extended period of time.”
“It would be realistically difficult to release an album with many songs, but we are looking into releasing a single in a very positive way.”
As YG’s head made the comment, it became more likely for fans to see JINUSEAN’s first song in 11 years.
Making a debut in 1997, SINUSEAN appeared on MBC’s Infinite Challenge – Totoga on Jan 3 to showcase that they’ve still got the musical talents. As they performed for the first time in 10 years, requests for a new song poured in, and so did the attention for the two.
