U.K Magazine DAZED Extolled MASTA WU’s “COME HERE”, Saying, “Fantastic Collaboration”
[OSEN=김사라 기자] U.K’s famous magazine DAZED extolled MASTA WU’s new song “COME HERE”.
On the 2 this month, DAZED on-line introduced the song’s music video and a short comment by MASTA WU and BOBBY, under the headline of “Fantastic Collaboration between Korean rapper MASTA WU, Dok2, and BOBBY”.
Plus, the magazine said, “producer MASTA WU, Illionaire’s Dok2, and iKON’s member BOBBY have appeared in a surprising combination. This trio remixed MASTA WU’s ‘COME HERE’ and presented a music video full of imagination which we usually expect for YG”.
MASTA WU explained the reason why he worked with Dok2 and BOBBY for the project, saying, “This song feels aggressive but cool at the same time, so I needed rappers who can express those feelings naturally”.
Then, he went on to say, “Many fans were surprised to see this collaboration, but I ‘never intended it’. It was just I wanted to make a good song. Anyway, it is good to see fans surprised and happy about it”.
BOBBY also talked about his participation in “COME HERE” project. “Since I had to work with senior artists, I wanted to make myself not look like a novice rapper. So, when I was writing lyrics, I made efforts to express youth and energy in my own unique style”, added he.
“COME HERE”, YG’s hip-hop project 2 following the first one of GD and TAEYANG, has been drawing a big attention, as it is MASTA WU’s first new song released in six years since YMGA that was released in 2008 with DM, as well as because Dok2 and BOBBY were known to be featuring for it.
Notably, the song took No.1 on music charts and is still in top places on charts, even though it is a hip-hop song, which is not that generally popular in Korea.
The first performance of MASTA WU’s “COME HERE” will be unveiled on the stage of Mnet’s MAMA to be held on the 3 in Hong Kong.
