MIX & MATCH to hold Successful Global Event in China, drawing Huge Crowd of Local Fans
[엑스포츠뉴스=김승현 기자] Nine members of “MIX & MATCH,” YG Entertainment(YG)’s new survival program to select members for its new boy band “iKON,” successfully ended their fan meeting in Beijing, China, as well as the global vote.
1,400 local fans attended the fan meeting that was held on Oct. 11 at the Poly Theater in Beijing, China. At least 60,000 fans reportedly applied for tickets to the event.
The competition among fans was also high in the previous fan meeting in Osaka, Japan on Oct. 5, with at least 40,000 fans who applied for tickets when only 2,000 slots were available. This proves that the members of “MIX & MATCH” are drawing wide popularity not only in Korea, but also across Asia including Japan and China even before their official debut as “iKON.”
B.I, BOBBY, and KIM JIN HWAN were particularly popular among fans in China, making the airport operation impossible by overcrowding the Beijing Airport.
The members of “MIX & MATCH” delighted the fans by opening the show in Chinese and YANG HONG SEOK took the spotlight by introducing himself in Chinese as he learned Chinese while studying in China.
The members showcased a rearranged version of Team B’s tracks, “JUST ANOTHER BOY” and “WAIT FOR ME,” and owned the stage with exceptional live performances.
All nine members had a chance to get to know the fans during the Q&A session by giving earnest answers to the fans’ questions.
They ended the fan meeting event by sincerely thanking the fans for their support and the fans cheered harder for the soon-to-be members of “iKON.”
Just like in Japan, the voting event, which gives fans a chance to cast in their votes for the four members they want to see in “iKON,” was also held in China. The votes gathered in these events will be included in the final tally of the show, so it remains to be seen who received the most votes during the global voting events.
Following the success in China, the nine members of “MIX & MATCH” will wrap their global fan meeting and voting event at D Cube City D Cube Park in Seoul.
