“MIX & MATCH” B.I’s Team vs. JIN HWAN’s Team, What’s the Result of First End-on-Month Test?
[OSEN=양지선 인턴기자] “MIX & MATCH”’s Team B and new-face trainees received different feedbacks in the end-of-month test.
In Mnet’s “MIX & MATCH” aired on the 18 at 11pm, YG trainees were divided into B.I Team and JIN HWAN Team, to perform for their first end-of-month test.
On the day, YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK decided to hold an end-of-month test on the trainees, in two separate teams led by Team B’s B.I and KIM JIN HWAN respectively. KOO JUN HOE, KIM DONG HYUK, and JUNG CHAN WOO were in B.I’s team and BOBBY, SONG YUN HYEONG, and JUNG JIN HYEONG were included in JIN HWAN’s team.
B.I’s team decided to give a unique performance of “Mercy”, a song of British singer-songwriter Duffy. JIN HWAN’s team selected to perform Jay-Z’s “Run This Town” in the test.
JIN HWAN’s team staged the performance first, and received an evaluation that the whole performance was focused on BOBBY alone. Furthermore, new-face trainee JUNG JIN HYEONG’s clumsy stage manners were criticized by YANG HYUN SUK who said, “you are not well mixed with the team”.
On contrary, B.I’s team received a favorable response from the staff, for their witty arrangement and rap-making. The staff said, “B.I team’s performance was so fun and full of novel ideas”. B.I team’s new-face trainee JUNG CHAN WOO showed a potential to receive a favorable evaluation that “you do not feel out of the team but well harmonized with the others”.
Meanwhile, iKON members will be selected 70% by viewers’ vote and 30% by judges’ vote. The members will be mixed in different groups and will compete in three matches. The first match will be evaluated by YG producers and the second will be evaluated from outside producers. YG explains that the third evaluation in which the members grown through the experience of previous two matches will have the biggest weight in the selection process.
“MIX & MATCH” is aired at 11pm on every Thursday and replay service is offered on NAVER TV CAST and YG’s official blog. Plus, NAVER TV CAST is additionally providing undisclosed “multi-track” images of each member, taken from different angles.
