WINNER Sweeps 9 Music Charts With All Songs in Album, Upon Debut
[OSEN=선미경 기자] YG’s rookie boy group WINNER has topped nine music charts in Korea, upon their debut.
“empty”, the title track of WINNER’s debut album “2014 S/S” released on the 12 at 0 o’clock, is in the top place on the real-time chart of nine music-streaming websites including Korea’s biggest music website Melon, Mnet, Genie, Olleh Music, Soribada, Monkey 3, Bugs Music, Daum Music, and Naver music, as of 7am on the 12.
All the songs in WINNER’s debut album including not only another double title “Color Ring”, but also “Don’t Flirt”, “Different”, “Confession”, “I’m him”, “Tonight”, have entered charts.
It is a very rare case for a new group to take top places on all major charts and make all songs in the debut album enter charts. That proves the true potential of WINNER, who has been drawing attention continuously for a long time of preparations for their debut.
WINNER members took part in writing the lyrics and melody of all 10 songs in their debut album, exerting their music talent.
“empty” is a rap and hip-hop song that expresses an empty feeling after breakup. SONG MIN HO took part in writing the lyrics of the song. The lyrics of “Color Ring” were written by KANG SEUNG YOON, SONG MIN HO, and LEE SEUNG HOON, with leader KANG SEUNG YOON working as the main producer.
Meanwhile, WINNER will have an official debut performance in YG Family Concert on the 15.
