[OSEN=선미경 기자] Singer PSY’s new song “HANGVOER” is receiving a series of rave reviews from foreign media outlets.

Upon the disclosure of the music and video of PSY’s “HANGOVER” at 8:10am on the 9 this month (in Korean time), the release of PSY’s new song has been covered by not only leading music and news magazines such as American Billboard, Time, Rolling Stone, HYPEBEAST, and Hollywood Reporter, but also a variety of professional music media, news channel, and broadcasting networks including MTV, Buzzfeed, Popdust, New York Post, Washington Post, CNN, NBC, ABC, and BBC.

American Billboard talks about the music video of “HANGOVER” that it is “very hilarious”, and evaluates it in a few simple keywords “Tipping shot glasses like dominoes. Wild karaoke. Kung fu in pool halls. Swirling dance beats. And, of course, Snoop Dogg”.

News magazine “Time” praises the music video, saying, “’HANGOVER’ shows a fantastic collaboration with Snoop Dogg”, and evaluates it “is worthy five minutes. The music video is a piece of art”, while picking some scenes such as PSY and Snoop Dogg’s drinking competition with Korean middle-aged women as the most impressive scenes.

World-famous web-magazine HYPEBEAST also talks about CL and G-DRAGON’s surprise appearance in the music video, as well as Snoop Dogg and PSY’s on-line collaboration for “HANGOVER”, saying, “Blending PSY’s K-pop-inspired style with that of Snoop’s…” On the same day, American music magazine Rolling stone said, “’HANGOVER’ is like a promise that PSY has kept successfully”, talking about PSY’s remark “I will come back with funnier contents” that he made after hearing the news of “Gangnam Style”’s reaching 2 billion views.

MTV covered an episode of the collaboration between hip-hop godfather Snoop Dogg and PSY, bringing PSY’s remark “We [shot] that music video in Korea… Snoop and I both had only 18 hours… Snoop’s calculation was 8 hours of shooting and 10 hours of partying. That’s what he thought, and honestly, that’s how I convinced him to bring him to Korea.”

The music video of PSY’s “HANGOVER” has reached 14.3 million views on YouTube as of the morning on the 10, with a record of 237,000 “like”s.

Meanwhile, PSY has announced to release a new single and title track ‘DADDY” in this summer, following “HANGOVER”.
