TAEYANG releases 2nd album: “It was a long journey”
[TV리포트=김예나 기자] “It was a long journey,” said TAEYANG about releasing his 2nd full album.
On June 2, a press conference was held for the release of his 2nd full album “RISE” at Seoul Gangnam’s CGV Cheongdam Cine City under the title “RISE PREMIERE.” At the event, the highlights of the songs from his 2nd full album and the music video were unveiled. TAEYANG then appeared in front of the press and talked about his upcoming comeback and future promotion.
TAEYANG, who returned with an album for the first time in 4 years commented, “I’ve been through a lot and I wanted to decipher every moment using music. The workload was incredible and I was really enthusiastic. Curbing my zeal was the hardest part. In the end, I let go and selected songs that anyone would like.”
He added, “When I was making the album my first goal was to produce something that satisfied me. My obsession started to grow. As time passed, I just wanted to dig in deeper to the music I wanted to pursue back then. I had been putting much thought, and came to a conclusion that my sincerity is what can be conveyed through music. Hence the delay in album release. I tend to be drawn into one aspect and drive myself toward just that. I had some conflicts with my boss. But that helped me progress. So in the end, rather than prioritizing my passion, I decided to select songs that many people would like.”
Other than the title track “EYES, NOSE, LIPS,” there are songs like “1AM,” “STAY WITH ME,” “BODY,” “RINGA LINGA,” “THIS AIN’T IT,” “LET GO” and “LOVE YOU TO DEATH.” He partook in co-composing and writing of some songs in the album.
His 2nd full album “RISE” will be unveiled on music sites at midnight of June 2, going on to June 3. The offline version will be unveiled June 10.
