[연합뉴스 이태문 통신원] Japanese media, including Sankei Sports, announced on Oct 27 that YG Entertainment’s new boy group WINNER will be making a debut simultaneously in both Korea and Japan.

Sankei Sports wrote about YG’s first new boy group WINNER’s upcoming debut in 7 years since BIGBANG, which was the winning Team A (Kang Seung Yoon, Song Min Ho, Kim Jin Woo, Lee Seung Hoon and Nam Tae Hyun) on YG’s real survival program ‘WHO IS NEXT: WIN’ aired in the evening of Oct 25.

The newspaper stated that YG Entertainment’s founder Yang Hyun Suk announced WINNER will be performing in the opening stages of BIGBANG’s 6 largest Dome Tour (total of 16 concerts in 6 cities) that kicks off on Nov 16. The newspaper then added that Yang commented, “We are hoping the debut of WINNER will be made both in Korea and Japan simultaneously. In the soundtrack, we will include songs for Japanese audience.”

Daily Sports also quoted Yang, “Japanese market is appealing. We have in mind a simultaneous debut in Korea and Japan. The first album will include songs recorded in Japanese.”

Sports Hochi was another newspaper that quoted Yang full of confidence, “WINNER will be able to bear fruit in Japan earlier than BIGBANG did.”

The 5 members of WINNER, who have been learning Japanese for the last 3 years, will appear before the Japanese fans for the first time on Nov 16 at Seibu Dome concert.

WINNER’s leader Kang Seung Yoon commented, “I am very excited to visit different places in Japan that I had seen in TV dramas or movies.”
