[스타뉴스 길혜성 기자] SEUNGRI, from the 5-member male idol group BIGBANG (G-Dragon, T.O.P, TAEYANG, DAESUNG, SEUNGRI), is set to release his new solo album in two years and seven months.
YG Entertainment (YG)’s CEO Yang Hyun-suk posted the article himself on YG Life, the official blog of YG, at 10 AM on the 29th to spread the comeback news to the fans.
Yang Hyun-suk announced SEUNGRI’s comeback in a posting titled “SEUNGRI’s new solo album release” saying that “we believe the fans would have been quite surprised at the sudden news that SEUNGRI will release his second mini album on 19th August.”
“This second mini album consists of six tracks, which will come about two and a half years after the release of SEUNGRI’s first solo album in January 2011. Like what he did for the first album, SEUNGRI has not only written the music and lyrics but also produced the entire album” said Yang. “The upcoming album’s title song is 할말 있어요” he added.
Yang said the title song 할말 있어요 is “house music with a fast beat but lyrical feel” and “the music video will be directed by Han Sa Min, whose previous works include BIGBANG ‘s BLUE and MONSTER” he said.
“After releasing the new album on August 19th, SEUNGRI will perform actively in Korea until the end of September. Then he will release his solo album in Japan during early October to continue his performance there” said Yang.
Lastly, he stated that “following SEUNGRI’s comeback, other BIGBANG members G-Dragon and TAEYANG will also make their comeback with a solo album.” “G-Dragon and TAEYANG are staying up all night at the studio, putting the finishing touches to each of their new albums” signaling the solo performances of BIGBANG members will continue.
