BABYMONSTER Set to Debut on Year-End Stage Alongside Senior Group 2NE1 in SBS Gayo Daejeon’
[텐아시아=최지예 기자] YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER will make their debut on this year’s final stage, capping off the year with a splash. According to YG Entertainment, BABYMONSTER is set to perform at the ‘SBS Gayo Daejeon’ on December 25th at the Incheon Inspire Arena. They will showcase a band version of ‘DRIP,’ one of the double title tracks from their first full album ‘DRIP.’
As their first and only domestic year-end performance of the year, it is drawing considerable attention. BABYMONSTER has recently proven their overwhelming live performance skills through their first album ‘DRIP’ promotions, including music shows, fan meetings, and festivals, capturing the hearts of music fans worldwide.
Especially anticipated is the performance of ‘DRIP,’ which will feature a newly arranged sound. YG stated, “To thank the fans who have supported us in our debut year, we have prepared a special stage. We plan to heat up the year-end with a more powerful performance and energy.”
This event is also highly anticipated as it marks the intersection of YG DNA. Yesterday, senior artist 2NE1 officially announced their return to the ‘SBS Gayo Daejeon’ stage after ten years. The two girl groups from YG, who showcased their warm chemistry at 2NE1’s 15th-anniversary concert in Seoul, are expected to share the stage once again at the year-end event.
In other news, BABYMONSTER is scheduled to release the music video for ‘Love In My Heart,’ a follow-up track from their first full album ‘DRIP,’ on December 16th. Additionally, they will continue to engage with their global fans by appearing consecutively on Japan’s TV Asahi ‘Music Station’ on December 27th and TBS ‘CDTV Live! Live!’ on December 28th.
Riding on this momentum, BABYMONSTER will launch their first world tour on January 25th and 26th at Seoul KSPO DOME, marking their rapid entry into the K-pop scene as a rookie girl group. They will then continue their tour across multiple cities including New Jersey and Los Angeles in the U.S, and Kanagawa, Aichi, Osaka, and Fukuoka in Japan, further expanding their global reach.
