[TV리포트=강나연 기자] YG Entertainment’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER is set to release their first full album with support from G-DRAGON. Despite his public departure from YG Entertainment, it seems G-DRAGON maintains his loyalty through ongoing connections.

On October 8, YG Entertainment announced on their official blog “YG Announcement BABYMONSTER 1ST FULL ALBUM ROLLOUT” that BABYMONSTER will release their first full album ‘DRIP’ on November 1.

In a video released today, YG EXECUTIVE PRODUCER YANG HYUN SUK personally introduced the nine tracks included in BABYMONSTER’s full album ‘DRIP.’ He shared his hopes and ambitions for a special promotional plan never seen before and the global tour set to start next year.

BABYMONSTER officially debuted as a complete group of seven on April 1 this year. Despite being newcomers, the global achievements they have showcased are astoundingly evident.

BABYMONSTER’s mini album ‘BABYMONS7ER’ has set a new record for the highest first-week sales for a K-pop girl group debut album with 401,287 units sold. The title track ‘SHEESH’ music video has recently reached 300 million views on YouTube, and the dance video has surpassed 150 million views, making a significant mark in the global market. Their subscriber count, a key indicator of fandom, is nearing 7 million.

Interest in BABYMONSTER’s first full album is heating up, and EXECUTIVE PRODUCER YANG expressed his particular fondness for the album, noting a high level of confidence in the tracks. Starting this week, YG will release about one minute of album tracks, excluding the title song, every two weeks in an unprecedented promotional move.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER YANG described the album’s title track ‘DRIP’ as “a song that makes people of all ages want to dance.” He hinted at the passionate performance BABYMONSTER will deliver and added, “G-DRAGON has contributed to the composition, completing a great piece of music,” raising expectations further.

This full album is a major project under YG’s full support. Unlike regular albums, which typically produce one or two music videos, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER YANG revealed plans to shoot at least three music videos for this album, showcasing his exceptional affection and confidence in BABYMONSTER’s debut album.

Furthermore, YANG mentioned, “For 28 years, I have been in charge of all choreography for YG artists like BIGBANG, 2NE1, and BLACKPINK. Choreographing for BABYMONSTER, especially planning for a world tour, can be overwhelming, but I am committed to producing excellent results.” This shows his dedication to expanding BABYMONSTER’s global reach.

He also shared, “I hope fans look forward to BABYMONSTER’s new tracks each week until the full album release on November 1. We plan to premiere the ‘CLIK CLAK’ music video a few days before the album launch.”

Adding to the anticipation, he noted, “We won’t release any teasers for the title track until its release date. We want to surprise and impress our global fans.”

Meanwhile, after leaving YG Entertainment, G-DRAGON has joined a new agency called Galaxy Corporation. It has been reported that he partnered with those who supported him during his drug allegations. After his contract ended, when drug allegations against him surfaced, YG Entertainment stated they could not respond as his contract had concluded.
