On the 19th, YG Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as ‘YG’) posted ‘BABYMONSTER – DEBUT MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENT REACTION’ on its official blog at midnight. You can feel the raw emotions of that day, where the reactions of the seven members watching the final debut team announcement were vividly captured.
Previously, executive producer YANG HYUN SUK had revealed that he had been planning on “BABYMONSTER as a group of five from the early planning stages”, so a five-member debut seemed likely. AHYEON, RUKA, CHIQUITA, HARAM, and PHARITA were called out as debut members, while ASA and RORA were announced to join YG’s new project. Though there were mixed feelings of disappointment, the members celebrated each other with heartfelt congratulations, bringing warmth to the moment.

BABYMONSTER is the girl group announced by YG about seven years after BLACKPINK. Composed of members from different nationalities including Korea (AHYEON, HARAM, RORA), Thailand (PHARITA, CHIQUITA), and Japan (RUKA, ASA), they are ‘all-rounders’ equipped with vocals, dance, rap, and visuals, attracting global music market expectations.
