BLACKPINK JISOO Ranks 2nd on U.S. Billboard ‘Global 200’
[헤럴드경제=고승희 기자] BLACKPINK’s JISOO has made her mark on the US Billboard charts.
According to YG Entertainment on the 11th, JISOO’s solo album ‘ME’ and its title track ‘FLOWER’ have reached #2 on both the US Billboard ‘Global 200’ and ‘Billboard Global Excl. U.S’ charts.
The ‘Global 200’ and ‘Billboard Global’ charts rank songs based on streaming and digital sales (downloads) collected from over 200 regions worldwide.
Billboard reported that ‘FLOWER’ has recorded approximately 108.7 million streams and 21,000 sales (downloads) worldwide since its release. It’s the ‘third-highest first-week streaming record’ since the global chart’s inception. The #1 spot went to BLACKPINK’s LISA with ‘LALISA’ (152.6 million), followed by pop star Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License’ (130.1 million).
Billboard also noted that “JISOO is the third member to enter the top 10 of both charts, following ROSÉ and LISA.”
JISOO’s first solo album ‘ME,’ released on March 31st, is continuing its successful run on various global charts. It ranked 38th on the UK Official Singles Chart, known as one of the world’s two major charts alongside the US Billboard, and 6th on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global.
The album’s sales have also been impressive. From March 31st to April 6th, it achieved ‘million-seller’ status with a total of 1,172,351 sales, setting a new record for K-pop female solo artists.
