BLACKPINK’s ‘BOOMBAYAH’ M/V Reaches 1.5 billion Views

According to YG Entertainment on the 12th, BLACKPINK’s ‘BOOMBAYAH’ music video surpassed 1.5 billion views on YouTube as of 3:50 AM the same day. This comes in about 7 months since it reached 1.4 billion views.
Considering that ‘BOOMBAYAH’ is one of the double title-songs from their debut single album ‘SQUARE ONE’ back in 2016, their recent record is a living proof to global fans’ unconditional love and interest towards the group.
As a result, BLACKPINK now has 3 videos that reached more than 1.5 billion views out of their 37 content that reached more than hundreds of millions of views. Previously DDU-DU DDU-DU (1.9 billion views) and Kill This Love (1.6 billion views) had reached the same record.
In particular, ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, which is currently maintaining the ‘first, best, and most’ title as a K-POP group music video, has accumulated a total of 1.976 billion views, drawing attention on whether it will reach a whopping record of 2 billion views.
