BLACKPINK to Unveil Performance For ‘Ready for Love’ During In-Game Concert
[뉴시스=이재훈 기자] The representative girl group of K-POP ‘BLACKPINK’ will be unveiling their ‘Ready For Love’ performance for the first time at their ‘IN-GAME’ concert. An in-game concert refers to a virtual concert held in the online game world.
According to YG Entertainment on the 22nd, BLACKPINK will be performing their ‘Ready For Love’ performance during their ‘BLACKPINK X PUBG MOBILE 2022 IN-GAME CONCERT: [THE VIRTUAL])’ which will kick off at 3AM of the 23rd starting with North and South America followed by Asia, Europe, Africa and other regions.
‘Ready For Love’ was a song that was partially revealed through ‘BLACKPINK : LIGHT UP THE SKY’, a Netflix documentary. The recording scene of this never-revealed song was included in the documentary. There were also rumors that BLACKPINK was making a comeback last November, as the teaser poster with the song’s title trended online.
YG said “The song is an attracting pop song that starts off with lyrical piano sounds, then continues on with an explosive drop. It’s a song that portrays the attitude of not giving up on what they want, and their rock-steady heart toward love.”
The virtual concert will be held from 2PM~4PM and 8PM~10PM on the 23rd and 24th, and can be viewed all around the clock on the 30th and 31st.
This virtual concert will be held in a virtual world, in cooperation with game company KRAFTON’s ‘Battle Ground Mobile’. Not only will it showcase the 3D avatar of BLACKPINK members JISOO, JENNIE, ROSÉ and LISA, but a 3D dimensional sound and stage will come to life with PUBGM’s technology.
This is the second time BLACKPINK is collaborating with PUBGM. PUBGM had used songs from BLACKPINK’s first full album ‘THE ALBUM’ for their ‘BATTLE GROUND MOBILE’ BGM.
Foreign artists from overseas are already actively taking part in virtual concerts in games. Epic Games’ “Fortnite” held online concerts with American pop star Ariana Grande and American hip-hop star Travis Scott. Fortnite also collaborated with the U.S. R&B duo ‘Silk Sonic’.
Fans can also take part in BLACKPINK’s virtual concert. Game users can shake their light sticks as if they’re at the real concert, and can also dance along to their choreography. If a ‘bubble effect’ occurs during the performance, they can hop on it and take a closer look at the members.
This virtual concert was held to interact more with global fans in a virtual world ahead of their comeback as a whole group. More than 5 million reservations were made for the virtual concert the previous day.
Meanwhile, YG has gone into preparation mode for the group’s full comeback back, which comes in about a year and 10 months. The group will be shooting their M/V this month ahead of the release of their new song in August, and will hold a world tour till the end of the year.
