BLACKPINK’s Song Reaches 600 Million Streams on Spotify, AGAIN

YG Entertainment said on the 18th that BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ surpassed 600 million streams on Spotify.
This is their second song to reach such a feat. The song reached 500 million streams on Spotify in September last year, and their other song ‘How You Like That’ had also reached 600 million streams.
BLACKPINK is the only K-POP group that has a song that reached more than 600 million streams on Spotify, a platform that is increasing its influence in the global music market.
BLACKPINK’s other mega hit-song ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is also about tor each 600 million streams on Spotify, drawing attention on the group setting more records.
‘Kill This Love’, which was released in April 2019, is a song mainly composed of intense lead brass and powerful drum sounds and is steadily being loved by fans from all around the world.
The M/V for ‘Kill This Love’ surpassed 1.6 billion views.
In the first week of release, ‘Kill This Love’ ranked 41st and 24th on U.S. Billboard’s main chart, the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 respectively, and also reached the top spot on U.S.‘ iTunes Song Chart, being the first K-POP girl group to reach the feat.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK is set to make a comeback as a whole group this August.
