BLACKPINK LISA’s ‘MONEY’ Performance Video Reaches 30 million Views…Sets another ‘Shortest Record’.

[MK스포츠=김나영 기자] BLACKPINK LISA again broke a record on YouTube with her performance video.

According to YG Entertainment on the 29th, the Exclusive Performance Video for LISA’s solo ‘MONEY’ reached more than 300 million YouTube views on YouTube at 4:11 a.m. that day.

This comes 66 days it was released on September 24th. Compared to other K-POP choreography videos that reached the same number of views, the feat was reached in the shortest amount of time. The previous record holder was BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ dance video which reached 300 million views in 76 days.

It is not common for choreography videos, not music videos, to change the first digit of hundreds of millions of views in such a short amount of time. In particular, when taking into consideration that LISA did not do much music shows or promotional activities for ‘MONEY’, the interest and love global music fans are showing to the song shows how strong her popularity is.

‘MONEY’ is a song with sophisticated hip-hop sounds and has rap lyrics that are full of swag. After two months since it was released, words got out on how great the song is and gained even more popularity as time went by. It then took over global charts.

Not only did ‘MONEY’ take the top spot for the iTunes Top Song Chart on 38 different countries, but it also took the 5th spot on Spotify’s global charts. It then entered the UK’s Official Single Top 100 and US’ Billboard Hot 100 Chart for 8 and 2 consecutive weeks respectively, setting several new records as a K-POP female solo artist.

Meanwhile the official YouTube channel for BLACKPINK which has 32 videos that reached hundreds of millions of views reached more than 70 million subscribers on the 28th and made their presence clear as the no.1 artist in the world with the greatest subscribers. The feat was reached after 5 million more subscribers joined their channel after LISA’s successful solo debut, showing how influential the members are as individual, not only just as a group.
