[연합뉴스=이태수 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK actively voiced out their opinions at a environment protection event hosted by YouTube and appealed to everyone how important it is “to save the Earth”.
According to YG Entertainment on the 24th, BLACKPINK took part in the ‘Dear Earth’ event conducted via YouTube as the only K-POP star.
Member LISA said “Global warming has been speeding up rapidly” and that “the Earth we have to preserve might disappear”.
ROSÉ said “Our generation need to work together”, and added that “We need to march forward with the aim of protecting this Earth. Let’s keep voicing out our current state of the Earth.”
BLACKPINK also performed ‘STAY’ from their album ‘SQAURE TWO’ which was released in November 2016.
Their agency said “This song portrays the anxiety in case one is going to leave the person, and the hope that they’d stay by their side”, saying that it matches the theme of the event of wanting to promote environmental problems.
JISOO said “We need to make an effort to make a better, fair, and sustainable world”. She then added “Our precious Earth will become more safer under our protection”.
