[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK set another meaningful milestone on Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform.

According to YG Entertainment on July 20, BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ has surpassed 400M streams on Spotify the day before, as of 9 PM.

It is BLACKPINK’s 3rd song to reach the milestone following ‘Kill This Love’ and ‘How You Like That’. Their record is unrivaled considering that BLACKPINK is the only K-Pop girl group with a song with over 400M streams on Spotify, which is growing its influence within the global music market.

BLACKPINK has released a total of 16 songs with over 100M streams on Spotify including ‘Ice Cream’(300M), ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’(300M), JENNIE’s solo track ‘SOLO’(300M), ‘BOOMBAYAH’(200M), ‘Lovesick Girls’(200M), ‘WHISTLE’(200M), ‘Forever Young’(100M), ‘Don’t Know What To Do’(100M), ‘Pretty Savage’(100M), ‘STAY’(100M), ‘Bet You Wanna’(100M), and ROSÉ’s ‘On The Ground’(100M).

‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ has even bigger records on YouTube. The MV for the song became the first K-Pop group video to surpass 1B views and is currently at over 1.6B views. The video is stacking 100M views almost every 3 months while receiving steady support from the global fans, while the group’s official channel has recently surpassed 63M subscribers.

‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is the title track of BLACKPINK’s first-ever mini album ‘SQUARE UP’, released back on June 15, 2018. The song has achieved an all-kill on Korean music charts as soon as it was released, as well as setting the best K-Pop girl group record in history at the time by being ranked at no. 40 and at no. 55 on the US Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively.
