BLACKPINK ROSÉ Appears on ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’→Japan’s ‘Sukkiri’… Shows Off ‘Global Presence’
[한경닷컴=이준현 기자] ROSÉ of group BLACKPINK appeared on famous US and Japanese TV·radio programs, leading to favorable reviews from global fans.
On March 29(local time), ROSÉ appeared on NBC’s ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’ and shared stories related to her solo album ‘R’ in addition to many other stories, making enjoyable memories as a guest.
Kelly Clarkson introduced ROSÉ as “The hottest artist in the world at the moment”. She mentioned various records ROSÉ has set through her first solo album and her number of Instagram followers, praising her global presence.
Regarding the question on her title track ‘On The Ground’, ROSÉ revealed her sincerity by replying, “It has the meaning that ‘I’ve always aimed for a higher place, but the most important value was within myself’. I would like everyone to stop and look back, realize what’s really important”.
On the same day, the popular radio program ‘Zach Sang Show’(106.1 KOQL-FM) uploaded ROSÉ’s interview video through its official YouTube channel. Zach Sang highlighted the success of ‘On The Ground’, which topped the Billboard Global 200 chart, and praised the song by commenting, “It’s the best album. You should listen to this song everyday”.
ROSÉ stated, “If it wasn’t for BLACKPINK, this solo album may have never been released” and added, “I feel secure that I’m not alone. The thought that they will be beside me whenever I need them, makes us feel like a family”. She also shyly mentioned her sub-title track ‘Gone’ as ‘a feeling of revealing a letter which I haven’t been able to send’.
Following her appearances on a US TV show and radio program, ROSÉ also appeared on Japan Nippon TV ‘Sukkiri’ on the 30th and presented a dominating performance.
After wearing an outfit decorated with white feathers with an aurora-like neon background, ROSÉ presented her sturdy live skills and beautiful vocals despite the fierce choreography.
ROSÉ is dominating Korean music broadcast trophies with her solo track ‘On The Ground’, although the song is written only in English. She won 5 crowns including her no. 1 on MBC every1 ‘Show! Champion’, Mnet ‘M Countdown’, KBS ‘Music Bank’, MBC ‘Show! Music Core’, and SBS ‘Inkigayo’.
The song has previously topped iTunes Top Song charts in 51 different countries including the US, as well as being ranked at no. 1 on the US ‘Billboard Global 200’, which ranks songs based on streams and digital sales collected from over 200 different regions of the world. The song also set the best K-Pop female solo artist record on the US ‘Billboard Hot 100’ and UK’s Official Singles Top 100 chart.
