BOBBY’s ‘LUCKY MAN’ at No. 1 in Japan… Tops iTunes K-Pop and Pop Albums Charts
[OSEN=김은애 기자] BOBBY of iKON proved his global presence by proving his unchanged popularity in Japan.
BOBBY’s second solo album [LUCKY MAN] topped the Japanese iTunes Charts in the K-Pop and Pop Albums categories. The album was even ranked at no. 2 on the Comprehensive Album Charts for a while, making the people look forward to the album’s progress.
BOBBY is a member of group iKON, who are popular in Japan. iKON has topped the Oricon Chart as soon as they made debut, as well as receiving rookie awards at the ‘Japanese Golden Disc Awards’ and the ‘Japan Record Awards’ that year. Furthermore, the ‘IKON JAPAN TOUR 2019’ has gathered a total of over 1 million accumulated audience.
BOBBY’s 2nd album was a delightful reunion with music by iKON in approximately a year, since the release of iKON’s mini album ‘i DECIDE’ which topped the Japan iTunes Comprehensive Albums Chart last year on February. Since it is BOBBY’s solo album that was released this time, his musical capacity and iKON’s popularity are gathering attention.
BOBBY’s 2nd album [LUCKY MAN] is popular not only in Japan, but also in various countries worldwide. [LUCKY MAN] has topped the iTunes Worldwide Albums chart on the date of its release. It also topped charts in 12 different regions including Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Ireland, and Turkey. The song was also placed on the top ranks in the US, Brazil, and Spain as well.
The title song ‘U MAD’ also topped iTunes Song charts in 5 different countries. Songs other than the title track including ‘Raining’ have also successfully charted in.
The title track ‘U MAD’ from BOBBY’s 2nd album is a song written and composed by BOBBY, hoping the listeners would feel and receive overflowing energy as they listen to the song. The catchy hook utilizing familiar melodies sound impressive, while BOBBY’s unique and fierce rap captures the listeners’ years.
