BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ Surpasses 300M Views on Spotify… Receives ‘Spotlight’ from Grammys

[헤럴드POP=김은혜 기자] BLACKPINK set another meaningful record on Spotify, the world’s biggest music platform.

According to YG Entertainment on September 3, BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ surpassed 300M streams on Spotify as of 11:30 AM.

BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ was the only K-Pop girl group song to surpass 300M streams on Spotify, which is growing its market share and influence in the global music scene.

Since the new record by ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ proved the global fans’ steady love and support towards BLACKPINK, it holds a special meaning.

US Grammys also spotlighted BLACKPINK’s amazing growth through their ‘For The Record’ series corner.

Grammys praised BLACKPINK by writing, “They’ve shown their artist-like aspects through their catchy music, glamorous performances, eye-catching MVs, and perfect live shows that fill up stadiums”.

They also expressed, “It is not surprising that BLACKPINK is setting new records and rewriting history. BLACKPINK has now become global superstars”.

BLACKPINK’s latest single ‘Ice Cream’ also received favorable reviews, raising anticipation on ‘The Album’, their official debut album scheduled to be released on October 2.

Grammys added, “BLACKPINK’s ‘The Album’ is highly anticipated before its official release” and assured, “BLACKPINK will climb up more charts and captivate the hearts of more fans”.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez’s ‘Ice Cream’ was ranked at no. 1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song chart on August 28, the date of its release. The MV has surpassed 100M views in 1.5 days since the video was released.
