On January 7 at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded SECHSKIES’ NEW ALBUM COMEBACK TEASER through their official blog.
The phrase ‘2020.01.28’ marked on the poster grabbed the people’s attention. The color yellow, which represents SECHSKIES, and a card which is an object of their new album, implied that a glad message for the fans will be included in the upcoming album.
SECHSKIES will be releasing an album in 2 years and 4 months, since releasing their album ‘ANOTHER LIGHT’ back in 2017. As it is their first album after being reformed into a 4-member group, the members have put in their best efforts.
The new album concept is still in veil, but the fans’ expectations are higher than ever.
After making debut back in 1997, SECHSKIES gathered once more back in 2016 through MBC ‘Infinity Challenge’ and made a successful comeback after signing with YG Entertainment. Beginning with ‘Three Words’, they have swept charts through songs ‘BE WELL’ and ‘SAD SONG’.
In addition, their existing 13 songs have re-entered the Top 100 on music charts, becoming a loved group in both the past and the present.
‘SPECIAL’, which is one of the double title tracks of their 4th album ‘ANOTHER LIGHT’ which was released in 18 years, has topped numerous music charts while the album has lined up all tracks in the top 10 spots of music charts.
They have also achieved successful results on global markets. Their ‘2016 Re-ALBUM’, which is a remastered compilation of their existing hits, has topped not only Korean music charts but also iTunes charts in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, proving their global popularity.
Their album ‘THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY’ released for their 20th anniversary has been placed at no. 9 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart, which made SECHSKIES the first-ever 90s Korean idol group to be charted on Billboard and proved the potential and strength of first-generation idols.
