WINNER Completes Their First-Ever Macau Concert in Huge Success, “The Best Memories”
[동아닷컴=정희연 기자] WINNER completed their first-ever concert in Macau successfully, fantastically decorating the last of year 2019.
On December 28 and 29(local time), WINNER met the local fans of Macau in STUDIO CITY EVENT CENTER by holding the WINNER [CROSS] TOUR IN MACAO concert, as part of their Asia tour.
Their Macau concert perfectly captured the eyes and ears of fans for 160 minutes, through a carefully organized setlist which also included the group’s latest releases. The live band sounds created harmony with the group, while the members’ individual performances had high levels of completion.
Tickets for WINNER’s first-ever concert in Macau, originally scheduled to be only on the 28th, were sold out as soon as ticket sales were open. Due to popular request, another concert schedule was added on the 29th.
As a sign of gratitude, the fans responded to songs such as ‘AIR’, ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’, and ‘AH YEAH’ by singing along and roaring during the soundcheck event, as if it was the actual concert.
After beginning the concert with songs ‘EVERYDAY’ and ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’, WINNER revealed that they were touched and expressed their gratitude towards the fans. YOON stated, ‘Thank you for being with us on this historical moment”, while HOONY communicated with the fans in local language.
WINNER continued by performing ‘ISLAND’ and ‘REALLY REALLY’. They also dominated the stage with blue lights by restlessly performing ‘MOLA’, ‘DRESS UP’, and ‘SPECIAL NIGHT’. Emotional songs by WINNER such as 채운 ‘DIFFERENT’, ‘HAVE A GOOD DAY’, ’RAINING’, ’OMG’, and ‘EMPTY’ were reinterpreted to match the live band sounds, presenting a differentiated performance which can only be seen and heard through WINNER’s concerts.
Furthermore, WINNER also presented their individual charms through solo performances. HOONY presented joyous performances through songs ‘FLAMENCO’ and ‘SERENADE’, while JINU made the fans applaud by performing his solo song, ‘CALL ANYTIME’. YOON showed off his explosive vocals by selecting ‘Instinctively’ and ‘WIND’, while MINO made the crowd go wild by consecutively performing 3 songs including ‘I’M HIM’, ‘ROCKET’, and ‘FIANCÉ’.
Their concert also had a corner letting the fans learn choreographies of solo releases, which made the audience smile. The concert held on the 28th covered HOONY’s ‘FLAMENCO’, while the concert held on the 29th covered ‘JINU’s ‘CALL ANYTHING’. The members and fans actively challenged, allowing the corner to be a joyous time for everyone.
As the concert continued through songs such as ‘BOOM’, ‘MOVIE STAR’, ‘SOSO’, and ‘DON’T BE SHY’, the mood was reaching to its climax without an end. WINNER has finished performing their scheduled setlist by performing ‘MILLIONS’, ‘AH YEAH’, ‘IMMATURE’, and ‘LA LA’, but the fans recalled the members by passionately requesting an encore performance.
For the first encore performance, WINNER chose the song ‘HELLO’. During their performance, the fans’ slogan event touched the hearts of WINNER. The slogan event of the 28th showed the phrase ‘Flowers bloom and fall, but INNER CIRCLE will always be hear’, while the slogan of the 29th read, ‘Everyday without WINNER is SOSO, Everyday with WINNER is OMG’.
YOON shared his thoughts by stating, “Today will be the best memory I’ve ever had in Macau”. He added, “I hope today will be your best memory as well”. MINO promised to meet again by stating, “You make me thankful, proud, and give me strength”. JINU stated, “I’m thankful for all of you who believe in us and support us, I love you”. HOONY smiled while stating, “It’s the first time WINNER performed in Macau. Thank you for enjoying our performances with passion”.
During their last encore performance of ‘ZOO’, the members wore animal doll hats for a special fan service. The fans could not lay their eyes off WINNER’s surprise gift and kept them in their hearts. In the end, YOON shared his overwhelming thoughts by stating, “It feels like yesterday when we greeted the new year with our last tour, but I feel happy and grateful to spend the end of the year with you through our new tour”.
Beginning in Seoul, WINNER has successfully held concerts in Taipei, Jakarta, and Macau. The group will continue their tour schedule in Bangkok next year on 1/11 and 1/12, in Kuala Lumpur on 1/18, in Manila on 1/25, in Ho Chi Minh on 2/1, and in Singapore on 2/8.
