WINNER, “’SOSO’? You Will Meet WINNER’s Heavy Side This Time… Emptiness and Loneliness”
[OSEN=김은애 기자] WINNER revealed the partial melody of ‘SOSO’, the title song of their upcoming album, for the first time.
Today(21st) at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded the MV teaser clip of ‘SOSO’, the title song of their upcoming album, through their official blog.
The video shows WINNER driving through the empty and lonely wilderness. The stories of each member were transitioned into short scenes, raising the expectations on the full version of the MV.
While sitting in the car with no facial expressions, the members seemed to have restrained their emotions. JINU stared at the exploding car with his sad eyes, while YOON presented a sorrow vibe while communing with a horse. MINO yelled at himself in front of a mirror after being in agony in front of a crowd. HOONY threw a glass cup into the floor while standing alone in a dining room.
The revealed teaser gathered the fans’ attention since it reveals parts of the melody of ‘SOSO’. The cold and ambient sound captured the eyes of listeners, while its catchiness aroused interest.
Regarding the concept of ‘SOSO’, YOON explained, “We presented fresh, bright, and healthy WINNER for the past couple of years. This time, you will meet the heavy side of WINNER, which is a bit different”. MINO commented, “Emptiness and loneliness”.
‘SOSO’ was written and composed by YOON, while MINO and HOONY participated on writing the lyrics of the song. AiRPLAY, a producer of YG, also participated in the composition and arrangement of the song to raise the level of completion. The song expresses one pretending to be calm despite his inner wounds and anger after a breakup, as being in a state of ‘SOSO’.
Like the title suggests, WINNER’s 3rd mini album ‘CROSS’ signifies WINNER’s own relationships, music, and stories created while the 4 unique members with their own characteristics and directions cross and become united as a group.
The album ‘CROSS’ will be released on October 23, while physical copies will be released on the 29th. WINNER will meet their fans on the same month on the 26th and 27th in Seoul KSPO DOME(Olympic Gymnastics Arena) through their concert titled ‘WINNER ‘CROSS’ TOUR IN SEOUL’. The group will then go on an Asia tour in 7 cities of Asia including Taipei, Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, and Singapore.
