The Black Label shared their official statement, that SOMI is preparing for her first-ever solo debut on May 1.
SOMI’s first solo track will be produced by TEDDY of The Black Label. She has recently finished recording and will start shooting the MV soon.
TEDDY, who will produce SOMI’s solo debut single, has previously produced global hits for YG’s representative female artists such as 2NE1 and BLACKPINK. He has recently produced BLACKPINK JENNIE’s mega hit ‘SOLO’, proving his amazing chemistry with female artists once again.
SOMI has previously revealed a photo taken with staff of The Black Label in the studio on her Instagram account on the 22nd, raising the fans’ curiosities.
The music fans’ anticipation on what kind of music SOMI will present with TEDDY, the representative producer of The Black Label, is higher than ever.
SOMI was placed at no. 1 on Mnet’s ‘Produce 101’ Season 1, becoming the ‘national center’ of I.O.I, the project girl group. After staying active in various fields after I.O.I’s official activities were finished, SOMI left JYP Entertainment and signed to The Black Label, which is a music label affiliated to YG Entertainment.
