‘YG TREASURE BOX’ PARK JEONG WOO Confirmed as Fifth Member of the New Boy Group

On January 21st at 11 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded a poster announcing that PARK JEONG WOO became the fifth member among the final 7 debut members of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’.
PARK JEONG WOO left a strong impression from the first monthly evaluations. YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK introduced PARK JEONG WOO by stating, “BANG YE DAM is the strongest contender no matter what, but there’s a trainee who threatens his spot”.
PARK JEONG WOO presented his amazing vocal talent and skills by performing Adele’s ‘When We Were Young’. His skills were on par with that of BANG YE DAM, who has trained for the past 6 years in YG, and they could not determine the winner among the two. By leaving such good impressions, PARK JEONG WOO was placed at no. 2 on the first monthly evaluations.
PARK JEONG WOO’s vocal talent was acknowledged early on, as he took the audition for YG Entertainment in 2 days after he registered for a vocal academy. He received vocal training after he became a trainee of YG and continued to grow as the program ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ progressed.
He also had many other talents other than vocals. After PARK JEONG WOO became a regular trainee by dropping out of the first debut group, he teamed up with HARUTO for the ‘2:2-unit position swap’ competition. PARK JEONG WOO and HARUTO grabbed WINNER’s hearts with their witty actions during the monthly evaluations.
PARK JEONG WOO has over 2.2 million accumulated views on his ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ individual channel. His individual contest vertical cam and diary cam that contains his daily routine have received a lot of love from the fans.
The fans are highly anticipating PARK JEONG WOO’s future activities along with HARUTO, BANG YE DAM, SO JUNGHWAN, and KIM JUNKYU as YG’s next generation boy group that follows the legacy of BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON.
Meanwhile, HARUTO, BANG YE DAM, and SO JUNGHWAN became the debut members on the last episode of ‘YG TREASURE BOX’ aired on the 18th, by receiving the highest scores per positions including rap, vocals, and dance. KIM JUNKYU also won the honor of becoming a debut member by receiving the highest score among all trainees, except for the three trainees mentioned aforehand.
