iKON’s New Song Topes Global Charts In 12 Different Regions… Written by B.I·BOBBY
[서울뉴스=황미현 기자] The global fans are show heated reactions on iKON’s new song.
‘I’M OK’ topped 12 different iTunes regional charts and topped 3 different Japan iTunes charts, along with China QQ Music’s K-Pop MV chart.
The title song ‘I’M OK’ from iKON’s repackage album ‘iKON NEW KIDS REPACKAGE ‘THE NEW KIDS’ was ranked at no. 1 on iTunes Charts in 12 different regions including Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Vietnam, and more, as of January 8. In addition, the album also reached no. 1 on album charts of 7 different regions.
iKON’s new repackage album also topped the K-Pop album chart of Japan iTunes Charts, while ‘I’M OK’ topped the K-Pop song chart and Pop song chart, proving the group’s massive popularity in Japan. iKON also topped the K-Pop MV chart of QQ Music, China’s largest music streaming platform. The results proved iKON’s strong influence in the Chinese region as well.
iKON’s new song is receiving favorable reviews as well as being ranked at the high ranks of various music charts.
iKON’s repackage album contains a total of 23 tracks including the title song ‘I’M OK’ and songs from ‘NEW KIDS: BEGIN’, their 2nd album ‘RETURN’, ‘NEW KIDS: CONTINUE’, and ‘NEW KIDS: THE FINAL’.
‘I’M OK’ is a Pop song in a minor scale which touches the listeners’ emotions with its monologue-like lyrics that reminds people of a movie quote. The song was composed by B.I and Future Bounce, while B.I, BOBBY, and Kimg Jong Won participated in writing the lyrics of the track.
iKON received the ‘Best Song of the Year’ award from the ‘2018 Melon Music Awards’ by receiving support from fans of all generations by releasing ‘LOVE SCENARIO’, ‘KILLING ME’, and ‘GOODBYE ROAD’. B.I received the Songwriter of the Year award. The group also won honor of receiving the Digital Song of the Year award at the ‘33rd Golden Disc Awards’ held on January 5th.
