As of November 29, 9 AM, the title song ‘FIANCÉ’ from MINO’s first solo album ‘XX’ was placed at no.1 on the real-time chart announced by Melon, which is Korea’s largest music platform. The song is maintaining its top spot ever since the song was released on the 26th. JENNIE’s ‘SOLO’, the song that topped music charts for 2 weeks since its release on the 26th is placed at no.2, still receiving heated popularity. The two artists of YG that made their debut as solo artists have dominated the no.1 and no.2 spot on music charts, proving their unrivaled popularity.
‘XX’ is MINO’s first solo album released since debut. MINO wrote, composed, and produced all 12 tracks from the album including the title song ‘FIANCÉ’. The song ‘FIANCÉ’ samples a popular song from the 70s titled ‘Soyanggang Maid’, combining the genre of Hip-Hop and trot with sophistication. The familiar melody and its fresh variations on rhythm sounds fresh, while the catchy melody and lyrics of the hook captures the ears of the listeners. The lyrics metaphorically express someone who’s missed as ‘fiancé’ or ‘blue bird’. The MV for the song has also reached 8 million views, receiving a lot of attention as well.
