BLACKPINK JENNIE’s Solo Debut, “Representative PD YANG HYUN SUK’s Words? ‘Go Kill Them All’”
[스포츠 경향=하경헌 기자] Girl group BLACKPINK’s JENNIE revealed the supporting words she received from YG Entertainment’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK and the members of the team.
On November 12, JENNIE held the press conference to announce the release of her first solo digital single titled in Platform-L Contemporary Art Center, Seoul. The MV for the song and its making film was also revealed through the press conference.
On the question regarding the supportive words from representative producer YANG HYUN SUK and the members, JENNIE responded, “President YANG took a lot of care on preparing for the song ‘SOLO’. We exchanged text messages every day, and he shared his opinions on every outfit and choreography moves”. She added, “The most impressive words I heard were, ‘Go kill them all’”.
She then explained, “It didn’t mean anything bad, and I took it as, ‘You can do better, why are you so shy. Get rid of that feeling and find your confidence’”.
Regarding other members including ROSÉ, JISOO, and LISA, JENNIE stated, “The members knew how nervous I was, so they laughed and encouraged me to do well. I was actually worried about this event even after the concert, but my tension eased thanks to the members, then appeared again, and just repeated”, while laughing.
JENNIE’s first solo track titled ‘SOLO’ was written and composed by producer TEDDY who worked on all songs released by BLACKPINK since debut, while producer 24 from ‘The Black Label’ participated in the composing and arrangement of the song. The song portrays the progress of a delicate young girl, heart-wounded from a dependent love, growing into an independent woman who seeks for her own freedom.
JENNIE revealed her determination by stating, “I heard that the music broadcast for this week is canceled, so I’ll be able to present performances starting from next week. I’ll return the love and support with great performances”. JENNIE’s solo single will be released on the 12th at 6 PM.
